| Pick a Catskill 35 Peak: |
Graham Mountain
This mountain is on private land and has no maintained trail. However, a very obvious road and herd path lead directly to the top. There is a cement block building at the top which is the remains of an old radio repeater station. The view from the top is limited but there is a lookout off the trail to the left just before the summit. This mountain is often climbed with Balsam Lake Mountain. If you want to do both peaks together, see the description of Balsam Lake Mountain.

Park at the trailhead at the end of the Beaverkill Road. The public road dead ends at this spot and
a private road continues to the Balsam Lake Lodge. There are several choices to make when climbing
this mountain. Find the blue-blazed Dry Brook Ridge Trail and hike about .9 miles. At this point you
can choose to turn left on the red-blazed balsam Lake Trail or continue straight ahead. Go straight
ahead on the blue-blazed trail. After about .8 miles, you will pass the second juncture with the
Balsam Lake Mountain Trail. After about .1 miles, you will see a path to the right which is the
way to Graham Mountain. The trail starts a rather gentle ascent with some places descending slightly.
After about 1.1 miles a sharper ascent climbs 600 ft. in .8 miles to the summit of Graham Mountain.
Just before the final climb to the summit walk off the trail to the left for a nice view of the valley.
There are nice views of the Gulf of Mexico if you walk off the trail to the right. At the summit
inspect the ruins of a post-WW II radio repeater station. To return to the parking area just
reverse your route.
