Dahlgren Backpacking Socks

Very soft and heavy alpaca wool hiking socks. Seem to wear more quickly than others.

A good merino wool hiking sock.

Darn Tough OTC Socks

Probably meant for skiing or snow sports. I like the longer over the calf design.

Rohner Trekking Socks

Great cushioning and durability. A little short to stay up at times. Wool and acrylic.

Smartwool Medium Weight Hiking Sock

Lighter merino wool sock. Terry weave on inside can irritate feet.

Smartwool Socks

A popular brand of wool sock but I prefer other that are Merino wool for the softness.

Teko Merino Wool Socks

Another good sock choice. Stays up and wicks well. Beginning to be my new favorite.

Thorlo Hiking Socks

Good cushioning and reasonable durability. I find wool better!

Ultimax Silver Socks

One of the few non-wool socks that I really like. Superior cushioning with antibacterial treatment.
Ultimax Silver Socks
Wigwam Comfort Hiker Socks

Excellent socks! I usually like longer OTC socks but these are warm and just the right weight. The terry weave on the inside of the primarily merino wool sock is cushiony and does not irritate the feet.
Wigwam Comfort Hiker Socks
Wigwam WoolSilk Socks

The wool silk blend is soft and warm. The ribbed knit can get irritating after many miles.
